Oslo Wine School er sertifisert og godkjent tilbyder av WSET (Wine and Spirit Educational Trust) vinkurs. WSET er verdens mest anerkjente vinstudie og tilbyr vinutdanning og kvalifikasjoner på flere nivåer, både for profesjonelle og vinentusiaster.

Oslo Wine School har som mål å være den ledende tilbyderen av WSET godkjente vinkurs i Norge, både for proff- og privatmarkedet. Vi tilbyr WSET kursene level 1, level 2 og level 3 in wine. I tillegg ønsker vi å gjøre det lettere for vanlige vinglade mennesker å øke vinkunnskapen sin, og vil tilby en rekke introduksjonskurs og fordypningskurs for vininteresserte forbrukere. Våre vinkurs holdes både på norsk og engelsk.

Vårt WSET kurs tilbud

WSET Level 1 Award in Wine

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is a 1-day beginners´ course intended for people with limited formal or professional knowledge of wines.  The course is designed to give sound basic knowledge of the main types and styles of wine. Whether you simply enjoy wine and want to learn more or are embarking on a career in the hospitality industry, this one-day course (6 hours) serves as a good foundation to learn the basic skills on how to describe wines accurately, explore the main types of styles of wine and explore food and wine pairings.

No formal knowledge or wine qualification is required to join this course.  At the end of the course day, there is a 30-question multiple-choice test (45 mins) and at this stage, you will not be formally tested on your tasting ability. On successfully passing the test, you will receive your first WSET Award Level 1 certificate and a lapel pin which will send you on your onward journey ready to join a WSET Level 2 course in Wines.

Due to Covid19 restrictions this course is currently held digitally over Zoom with 4 evening sessions (2 hrs each) once per week. Alternatively shorter more intense courses can be held on request.

 

WSET Level 1 in Wine Specifications

WSET Level 2 Award in Wine

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is beginner to intermediate level course to explore wines and is suitable for wine enthusiasts as well as people wishing to work in the wine trade.  Whether you simply enjoy learning about wine and want to broaden your knowledge gained with WSET Level 1 Award in Wines or gain a greater foundation for a professional career, this 3-day wine course (16 hours) will help you understand more about the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions where they are grown and the styles of wine produced.  Through theory and tasting sessions you will explore factors that impact wine styles and quality and learn how to describe wines confidently.

In addition to the tutored teaching throughout the 3-day course (or 9 sessions digital classroom),  approx. 11 hours of self-study are required in order to be successful and gain the maximum benefit from the course days.   After the course days, you will have a 50 question multiple-choice exam (60 mins), at this level there is no tasting exam. On successful completion, you will receive your WSET Level 2 Award in Wine certificate and a lapel pin which will send you on your onward journey ready to join a WSET Level 3 Award in Wine course.

WSET Level 2 in Wine Specifications

WSET Level 3 in Wine

WSET Level 3 in Wines is the ideal way to advance your knowledge of wine.  This course is suitable for dedicated wine enthusiasts as well as wine professionals.

WSET Level 3 in Wines builds on the knowledge already gained at Level 2 in Wines, and is designed to give you thorough understanding of the factors that influence the style, quality and price of the principal still, sparkling and fortified wines of the world.

Learn about wine in a series of 13 live digital sessions on Zoom, conducted in the same was as if you were in the classroom with us.

  • How to taste wine using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT)
  • How to make appropriate wine recommendations
  • The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing (viticulture), winemaking, maturation and bottling.
  • The key characteristics of the principal still, sparkling and fortified wines of the world.
  • Tutored tasting of 35 wines (see wine list* info)
  • Small classroom size to ensure sufficient learning and one-to-one interaction
  • Recordings of sessions will be available to students in case they are not able to attend one of the live sessions.

In addition, enrolled students will be invited to an introduction session where we discuss successful study techniques for this course, and a pre-exam tasting class.
